Week Two
The second week of class was a blur. It flew by so fast. The days in class were long, the nights in study were late and the rewards many. I can honestly say that these two weeks were the two most rewarding weeks of school that I have ever experienced. I was stretched, challenged and encouraged beyond words. God truly blessed my life through this opportunity and I eagerly anticipate the remaining 11 months of experiences in this Hebrews Preaching Class. Thanks to all who prayed. Day one and two we continued to dig into the exposition of Hebrews 1:1-4. The nights were spent studying and preparing to preach for my class. Days three through five were spent listening to sermons from my classmates on passages representing most every chapter of Hebrews. After every sermon the professor along with the class critiqued the sermons for around 30-40 minutes. It was incredibly instructive and challenging. I preached on Wednesday from Hebrews. What a nerve-racking ordeal. It was truly a blessing of intense instruction. My walk with the Lord was deepened, my love for preaching strengthened, my desire to handle the Greek text was inflated and my heart for faithfully pastoring our church was broadened. Thank the Lord for his faithfulness these last two weeks.

What an awesome opportunity for you and for your congregation! We're excited about your classes. It's also a "six degrees of separation" thing for us... Dr. Allen was pastor of Scott's home church in Irving (MacArthur Boulevard)! We eagerly await further updates. Say hi to Lynlee for me!
