I think there is only one other moment greater for the fisherman than having a fish on the end of his line - having a fish on the end of his son's or daughter's line. Lots of joy seeing your kids do some of the things you love to do. Reminds me of 3 John 3-4, "For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." NASB95. Disciplemaking is truly one of the greatest joys of life. No wonder Jesus used fishing as an illustration of disciplemaking.

Take it from an old(er) man: It just keeps getting better.
I have seen my children make wise choices (sometimes in areas where I failed miserably when I was the age they are now) and my joy is increased.
I attribute it to 2 things:
- a praying wife / mother, &
- the goodness of God.
